Peace Meditation

Lord, make me a channel of your peace
Where there is hatred, let me bring love;
Where there is wrong, let me bring forgiveness;
Where there is discord, let me bring harmony;
Where there are lies, let me bring truth;
Where there is doubt, let me bring faith;
Where there is dispair, let me bring hope;
Where there are shadows, let me bring light;
Where there is sadness, let me bring joy;
Lord, grant that I might seek rather
To comfort than to be comforted
To understand than to be understood
To love than to be loved.
For it is by self-forgetting that one finds,
It is by forgiving that one is forgiven,
And it is by dying that one awakens to breathe in eternity.
